• A letter from the founder:

FR3E is the culmination of the past decade of my life, filled with both triumphs and tribulations. In 2017, I lost my best friend and brother-in-law, Carl, after losing his battle against a blind-siding mental illness. Carl lived his life with passion, adventure, health and happiness, but this terrible sickness tragically took everything from him. Carl’s death will never define his life and how he lived. The “3” (Carl's number in sports) in FR3E is a tribute to Carl and a promise to everyone who has lost their battle with mental health that we will persevere and enact change. Together, we will address this mental health crisis, knowing that we possess the tools within our bodies and minds to create better health and happiness. We owe it to ourselves, those we’ve lost, and our children that look to us to show them the way.

After losing Carl, I dealt with significant stress and anxiety that had been building over the years. Carl had planned to run a race in California with one of his best friends, but tragically never had that chance. Motivated by Carl’s energy and determination that I missed so much, I decided to step in and run the race in Carl’s name. What I didn’t anticipate was the profound impact running would have on my mental health. As I progressed in my physical fitness, my stress and anxiety gradually lessened but never completely disappeared. Everything changed when I discovered the concept of “mental fitness.” I began incorporating daily practices like cold water immersion, meditation, breathwork, grounding, and other activities into my routine. Just as determination, consistency, and passion were key to achieving my physical fitness goals, I applied the same energy to my mental fitness journey. Committing to an equal and balanced pursuit towards my peak physical and mental fitness transformed my life. I overcame stress and anxiety, became a better husband and father, and found the motivation to pursue my dreams and build FR3E.

FR3E is dedicated to inspiring others to join us on the ongoing journey to happier and healthier lives by committing to the balanced pursuit towards physical and mental fitness. We take pride in paving the way and showing others how a holistic lifestyle can change the world for the better, and we commit to giving back to mental health foundations and initiates to help those who need it most.

Thank you for your support, and we welcome you to the FR3E movement. Now get out there, move your body, free your mind, and look good doing it.
